Katya counsels and defends employers in numerous employment-law matters, including discrimination in the workplace, disputes regarding restrictive covenants, wage and hour compliance, leave disputes, paid sick leave, and medical marijuana in the workplace. Katya also regularly drafts and revises employee handbooks for employers.
In addition, Katya represents tribal employers, tribal enterprises, and tribes in a wide range of legal matters, including employment law matters.
During law school, Katya served on the Arizona Law Review, competed in oral arguments at a national moot court competition, and participated in the employment law clinic. She also earned a concentration in indigenous peoples law and policy. Before joining Sacks Tierney, Katya advised and represented employers in employment law matters for seven years.
